Since 2005 I have worked as a consultant in water resource planning and protection. I work with communities on growth management, providing tools and strategies to protect drinking water, habitats and working lands -- the features of watersheds. I help towns remedy stormwater runoff pollution and have worked with numerous communities to draft and adopt bylaws, regulations and guidance for stormwater management, low impact development and conservation design. I work with community boards, committees, nonprofits, agency staff and planning consultants to conduct outreach and education via workshops and public meetings.
I offer a science-based approach through the use of GIS and modeling tools. These allow me to assess land development impacts on watershed resources to guide proactive planning. These tools can help identify effects of stormwater from new development, beneficial placement of best management practices and potential pollution effects on streams and ponds. They can help prioritize land protection efforts, assess impacts of climate change and meet regulatory requirements.
